Jumping Jahozafat!  new Yorkers are having a very bad week. NYC MTA FARES HIKES TAKE EFFECT TODAY (WPIX11 NY) « PUMABydesign001's Blog

Lol.  I am laughing because if I do not, I will hurt somebody.  LMAO.

Forgive me, but here in new York, we are down, zero to zero.  I mean how many times do we have to get kicked in the teeth in just a matter of days, i.e., first by Mayor Bloomberg and the Department of Sanitation and now the NYC-MTA?

Cut us a break will ‘ya?

With no bus service and most train service suspended due to inclement weather the past several days; treading by foot across the City in snow past our knees in sub-freezing temperatures (well maybe not, but it sounds good.  The temps have been around 20 degrees until today with a wind chill of 3 degrees) we now have to pay more to ride  buses and trains that have been out of service for four days straight.

Throwing salt on an open wound, the MTA sees no need granting its ridership a reprieve from a system-wide fare increase that went into effect at 2 a.m. this morning and happens to be the third fare hike in three years.   NYC MTA FARES HIKES TAKE EFFECT TODAY (WPIX11 NY) « PUMABydesign001's Blog

The dreaded Metropolitan Transportation Authority fare hikes went into effect at midnight.

A single ride now costs $2.50, and a 30-day unlimited is at $104.

Weekly cards are now $29.

The pay-per-ride bonus has been sliced in half, from 15 percent down to 7 percent.
