Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to describe that rat hole! It's suffocating, dirty and the most crowded station in NYC!
So.... it's N, Q to Astoria and R to Forrest Hills.
Ok.
3 R-s are passing in 14 minutes (today I timed it) and maybe 1 or 2 people are getting in!!!!
Why ???Because the rest is waiting for N/Q!
Is not one, at least one MTA employee with 1/4 of the normal people brain to realize that ALTERNATING the trains would ease the damn platform???? And they have the guts to say not to block the doors and to wait for the next train RIGHT BEHIND!!!! (like I can be sure ever that is not R again!!!)
Come in time for God's sakes and the doors won't be blocked with people sick and tired of waiting in that hell hole! When you come down the stairs, some days you do not have a spot to get on the platform, you have to wait for the train on the stairs!!!!!
Come on time = less people on the platform, less trash, dirt, less food for rats, much more AIR, no blocked doors, no other trains being late and NO complaints!
But hey ! I've seen the MTA employees at the last stop!!! They have to chat, to rest, to drag their feet. And why wouldn't they? They have a JOB, a UNION, they are getting paid no matter what, right!!! ??? If not, guess what??? STRIKE! Showing every other New Yorker who has the POWER! Why would they care about the rest of us, getting to our jobs, to our kids or our doctor appointments in TIME. Leave early- they would say! Really?!!! Are you going to compansate the time my boss will cut off my paycheck when I have to leave early to pick up my kid from school or to go to a doctor, just because MTA CANNOT RUN on time????
Disgusting! We are talking about NEW YORK - 2010! We are crying here for basic human condition to wait for a train, so mentioning the air conditioned, spotless, organized train stations in HongKong , London etc. would be a bitter joke!
And the cherry on the top: MTA considers raising the price for the monthly card to $100.00!!!
I would love to drag the biggest shot in MTA to this specific stop, every week day at peak time!!!! What am I talking about, I was waiting for the train there off peak and the difference is unmentionable!
MTA had a strike - I wonder what would be their financial loss if WE would have a strike and we would not take the trains one day? Only one day! If you are making the numbers - average no of people/$2.00/day , just for fun, maybe they would understand that they are BREATHING because we are PAYING and then they would have the trains RUNNING!
